Resolve to Educate Street Children and Honour the True Spirit of Teacher’s Day
Celebrate Teacher’s Day with The Third Eye Foundation by supporting education for street children, empowering young lives through learning, care, and opportunity.

Teacher’s Day, celebrated every year on 5th September, is a tribute to the dedication, compassion, and lifelong commitment of educators who shape young minds and inspire future generations. Teachers do more than deliver lessons - they nurture curiosity, instil values, and help children discover their potential. Especially in a child’s formative years, the presence of a caring and committed teacher can be life - changing. As rightly said by Alexandra K. Trenfor, “The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see.”

For most children, a classroom is the first place where they begin to understand the world. However, this basic right to education remains a distant dream for thousands of street children across India. Living in unsafe and unstable environments, these children are often deprived of schooling and exposed to hunger, exploitation, abuse, and neglect. Many are forced into child labour or spend their days on the streets searching for food, safety, or temporary shelter. Without timely intervention, several fall into cycles of substance abuse, violence, and crime - outcomes rooted not in choice, but in lack of opportunity.

Education plays a crucial role in breaking this cycle of poverty and vulnerability. It equips children with knowledge, confidence, critical thinking skills, and the ability to make informed decisions. More importantly, education restores dignity and hope. Teachers become mentors and role models, guiding children towards emotional stability, social awareness, and personal growth. For street children, even access to basic literacy can open doors to safer livelihoods and a brighter future.

The Third Eye Foundation is committed to transforming the lives of street and underprivileged children through education-driven interventions. Our programmes focus on formal and non-formal schooling, bridge education, vocational training, and life-skills development, ensuring that children not only return to learning but also stay engaged. Alongside education, we provide care, protection, nutrition, and mental health support, creating a holistic ecosystem where children can heal, learn, and thrive.

On this Teacher’s Day, let us extend our gratitude beyond words by standing with children who need education the most. By supporting educational initiatives for street children, you help create classrooms of hope, teachers of change, and futures filled with possibility. Together, we can ensure that every child—regardless of where they are born - gets the chance to learn, grow, and dream.

This Teacher’s Day, resolve to educate. Resolve to transform lives.
